Redesign: Flower Shop
Creating a modern and user-friendly website
Overview:
In this UX case study, I undertook the challenge of redesigning a flower shop website to enhance its user experience and drive conversions. The original website suffered from usability issues, outdated design, and a lack of intuitive navigation, resulting in poor user engagement and low conversion rates.
Process
1.Research and Analysis:
2.User Personas and Journey Mapping:
3. Information Architecture Design and User Flow Mapping:
4.Wireframing and Prototyping and Visual Design:
I developed low-fidelity wireframes to improve navigation and usability, then created interactive prototypes using Figma to test functionality. The modern, visually appealing interface aligns with the flower shop's branding, featuring high-quality images to enhance visual appeal.
5.Testing and Iteration:
Results:
The redesigned flower shop website achieved the following outcomes: Improved user engagement: Users reported higher satisfaction with the new website's ease of use and navigation. Positive feedback: Users praised the website's modern design, improved functionality, and seamless shopping experience.
Conclusion:
Through research-driven design and iterative testing, the redesigned flower shop website successfully addressed usability issues and improved the overall user experience.
Retoys
UX project with focus on research and usability
Overview:
This UX research and design project focuses on creating a sustainable toy shop, Recycle Toys, that promotes eco-friendly practices by encouraging the recycling and repurposing of toys. The aim is to enhance user experience while fostering environmental responsibility.
Problem:
Customers of online toy shops often struggle to find eco-friendly and sustainable toy options. They are unaware of how their purchasing choices impact the environment and find it challenging to navigate the recycling process for old toys.
Solution
Develop an intuitive online platform for Recycle Toys that highlights eco-friendly products and provides clear information on sustainable practices. Incorporate features such as a user-friendly recycling guide, easy toy donation options, and rewards for recycling to encourage responsible consumer behavior.
Affinity Diagram:
During the affinity diagram phase, I organized all the raw data from interviews and observations into individual notes and grouped them by similarity to reveal patterns in user behaviors, needs, and pain points. By labeling these clusters, I transformed unstructured insights into clear themes that highlighted key challenges and opportunities. This process helped create a focused understanding of user priorities and guided the next steps of the UX design process.
Competitive Analysis:
In the competitive analysis phase, I examined direct and indirect competitors to understand how their products address similar user needs, focusing on their strengths, weaknesses, features, and overall user experience. By comparing design patterns, usability, visual style, and value propositions, I identified gaps and opportunities that our product could leverage.
Persona:
In the persona phase, I transformed key insights from user research into clear, representative user profiles that capture the goals, behaviors, motivations, and pain points of our target audience. These personas serve as realistic stand-ins for real users, helping the team stay aligned with user needs throughout the design process. By grounding design decisions in these profiles, I ensured the product direction remained focused, empathetic, and consistent with the actual challenges and expectations uncovered during research.
User Flow:
In the user flow phase, I mapped out the step-by-step paths users take to complete key tasks within the product, outlining each decision point and interaction along the way. This helped visualize how users navigate the system, identify potential friction points, and ensure the overall experience feels logical, efficient, and intuitive.
Sitemap:
In the sitemap phase, I organized the product’s content and features into a clear, hierarchical structure that outlines how all pages and sections relate to each other. This helped define the overall navigation framework, ensuring information is easy to find and logically grouped. By creating a well-structured sitemap, I established a solid foundation for intuitive navigation, supporting a smoother user experience and guiding the layout of future design screens.
Moodboard:
In the moodboard phase, I gathered visual references—such as colors, typography, imagery, and interface styles—to explore and define the overall aesthetic direction of the product. This collection of inspiration helped clarify the desired tone and personality of the design, ensuring alignment with user expectations and brand goals. By using the moodboard to communicate visual intentions early, I created a shared understanding that guided the design’s look and feel in later stages.
UI Kit:
In the UI kit phase, I created a comprehensive set of reusable design components, including buttons, icons, colors, typography, and form elements, to ensure visual consistency across the product. This kit serves as a standardized toolkit for designers and developers, streamlining the design process and maintaining a cohesive look and feel.
Iterations:
In the iterations phase, I refined and improved the designs based on user feedback, testing results, and stakeholder input. By continuously evaluating and adjusting interface elements, interactions, and layouts, I was able to address usability issues, enhance clarity, and optimize the overall user experience. This iterative approach ensured the final product was both user-centered and aligned with project goals, balancing functionality, aesthetics, and efficiency.
Wedding App
This UX research and design project focuses on creating a wedding app that simplifies online wedding planning.
Project Overview:
This UX research and design project focuses on creating a wedding app that simplifies online wedding planning. The aim is to provide an intuitive and comprehensive platform for couples to organize their wedding efficiently, from guest lists to vendor management, ensuring a stress-free planning experience.
Problem:
Couples planning their weddings often face overwhelming stress due to the complexity and multitude of tasks involved. They struggle to keep track of guest lists, vendor communications, and schedules using disparate tools and services, leading to disorganization and frustration.
Solution
Develop an all-in-one wedding app that centralizes all planning tasks into a single, user-friendly platform. The app will feature intuitive tools for managing guest lists, coordinating with vendors, tracking budgets, and organizing schedules. By streamlining these processes, the app will reduce stress and enhance the overall planning experience for couples.
